Traditional social platforms focus on curated content and endless scrolling. We wanted to create something different - a platform that gets people off their phones and into real-world experiences with others who share their interests.

Alex Kareem Taliaferro
Founder & CEO
A software developer and product manager with a passion for authentic human connection, Alex founded Beecon after experiencing firsthand how difficult it can be to make spontaneous plans as an adult.
With over 10 years of experience building digital platforms, both as a solo developer and as part of a Fortune 100 enterprise, Alex believes our behaviors are shaped by the technologies around us. To this end he is dedicated to creating tools that facilitate genuine, spontaneous interactions.
When not working on Beecon, you can find Alex exploring the great outdoors, playing pickup basketball, or organizing impromptu game nights - all activities that inspired the creation of Beecon in the first place.
